Military Heritage Museum
Breakfast, fresh coffee and juice served on the fun bus ride to Port Charlotte Harbor and our first stop.
Freedom isn’t free. South Florida's Military Heritage Museum is one of the largest of its kind in the area. Our Museum curator will give us a personal tour, pointing out some of the best parts of the collection and some hidden treasures only an insider would catch. The interactive future force activity areas, featuring land, air and marine simulators along with virtual and augmented reality experiences. You will also find a state-of-the-art theater showing historical military footage and hundreds of authentic guns and one of a kind artifacts, from the last 200 years, that played a role in our countries freedom.
Check out the onsite traveling exhibits such as War Dogs and the 21st century war room as well as the gift shop for rare books and collector pieces.
We decided that Cheeseburgers were a great lunch choice to carry on the theme of the day so we picked The Burg’r Bar because it was just voted Peoples Choice- best cheeseburger in town. Lunch is included in tour.
Alligator Bay Rum
A quick stop at Alligator Bay Rum distillery for a tour and taste test. Their rum tastes great and the smell of rum ageing is delightful.
Muscle Car City
Muscle Car City, one of the largest GM muscle car displays in the nation. The muscle museum boasts over 170 classic cars and hot rods from the 50’s – 70’s. You will be amazed at Rick’s collection of one Corvette from every year since 1954! Take a look in Muscle car corral –if you dare- where rods and HP cars are waiting for you to purchase. Insider tip: The memorabilia store!
Note from the founder: There are no words to explain how you will feel when you first walk in the museum... It's as if every single car and truck had just rolled off the GM factory line. I even saw my first car: a 1973 Camaro.
Beverages & snacks will be served on our ride home listening to Top 100 hits of the 50’s & 60’s. Sing alongs have been known to happen!
